Our Values

PEOPLE FIRST: We focus on customers and team members.

EVERYONE BELONGS: Diversity, equity, inclusion and teamwork are essential in everything we do.

DO THE RIGHT THING: At Papa John’s, integrity, character and community are at the heart of our culture.

INNOVATE TO WIN: We think differently and lead change.

HAVE FUN: It’s pizza, it has to be fun!

Commitment to DEI

Our top strategic priority is building a culture of leaders who believe in diversity, inclusivity and winning. We are proud of the progress we’ve made but there is always more work to do. We focus on making meaningful, enduring improvements within our organization and in our recruitment and retention efforts.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Strategic Objectives

  • Diversify our workforce and leadership pipeline by attracting, recruiting, developing and supporting talent who reflect our customers and communities.
  • Embed policies and practices that ensure fairness, build trust and hold ourselves accountable for adherence.
  • Instill and reward behaviors that foster belonging and increase team member engagement across our organization.

The Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee (CGN) has oversight of our DEI strategy and receives regular progress updates from our Executive Leadership Team.

Celebrating Our Individual Flavors

Papa Johns is open to new faces, new voices and new ideas, and we encourage team members to bring their unique and individual flavors to our table. On a global basis our Inclusion Resource Groups (IRG) help to build meaningful connections through community outreach and volunteerism, mentorship and professional development. IRGs elevate diverse perspectives, support key business goals and priorities, and create spaces for team members to learn from each other. Despite the pandemic-related constraints of the past two years, our IRGs continued to build their respective communities and launch initiatives.

Equal Employment Opportunity

Papa Johns is committed to achieving equal opportunity and maintaining a diverse and inclusive culture for all of our team members, including those with disabilities. We base our employment decisions on merit, qualifications, and abilities. We do not discriminate against any team member or applicant on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, marital status, national or ethnic origin, pregnancy, veteran status, uniformed service (as defined by 10 U.S.C. § 101(a)(5)), protected disability status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or reassignment, or any other characteristic protected by statute or local law.

To comply with applicable laws ensuring equal employment opportunity to qualified individuals with disabilities, we make reasonable accommodations for the known physical or mental limitations of an otherwise qualified individual with a disability who is a team member or an applicant unless undue hardship would result.

This policy governs all aspects of employment, including recruitment, selection, job assignment, compensation, corrective action, termination, and access to benefits and training.

In order to ensure dissemination and implementation of equal employment opportunity and affirmation action, an audit and reporting system is maintained to determine overall compliance with our equal employment opportunity responsibilities and to respond to any specific complaints applicants or team members bring to the attention of People Operations.
