Basketball legend and Papa Johns franchise owner Shaquille O’Neal just opened a new Papa Johns restaurant in the heart of Atlanta’s Ponce de Leon Avenue. To celebrate the restaurant’s opening and the return of fan-favorite Shaq-a-Roni Pizza, Shaquille invited three members of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta to help him introduce the restaurant to the local community and gave the members a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run a busy Papa Johns.
Shaquille shared with the members memories from his own time spent as a Boys and Girls Club member and how he became a Papa Johns franchise owner, encouraging the youths to pursue their dreams.
During his surprise visit to the restaurant on opening day, Shaquille also announced that the famous Shaq-a-Roni Pizza is available again in Papa Johns restaurants nationwide for a limited time. Crafted by Shaquille himself, the Shaq-a-Roni Pizza delivers a whole lot of EXTRA – extra cheese and extra pepperoni on each extra-large slice. Shaquille and Papa Johns are expecting the new Papa Johns restaurant to become popular in the neighborhood. A few miles away from the new Ponce location, just off the campus of Georgia Tech, Shaquille and his team operate one of the busiest Papa Johns restaurants in the world.
