Without entrepreneurship, Papa Johns simply wouldn’t be the business it is today. Through partnership with our franchisees across the globe, we are able to deliver on our promise of Better Pizza. Better Ingredients. That’s why Papa Johns is dedicated to creating opportunities that cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit to succeed.
To inspire and empower up-and-coming young entrepreneurs, Papa Johns recently hosted members from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta at our corporate hub to experience being a “Franchisee for a Day.” Papa Johns franchisee and Papa John’s Foundation board member Joe Johnson hosted the day, offering teens insights into what it takes to run your own business and the positive impacts of entrepreneurship, such as inspiring team members, serving customers and investing in the local community.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America teens learned learned hands-on the art of entrepreneurship at Papa Johns with a first-hand look at what it takes to become a franchisee. Joe – who currently operates 15 Papa Johns restaurants and is working towards opening 15 more locations – led teens on a tour of a Papa Johns restaurant and shared the story of his entrepreneurial journey. Through sessions with other Papa Johns leaders, Boys & Girls Clubs members members learned about maintaining inventory and supplies, crafting new products and quality assurance, as well as how to turn new customers into fans. Boys & Girls Clubs members/youth also got to roll their hands into our fresh, never-frozen dough and made their own pizzas in the Papa Johns Test Kitchen.
Ahead of National Entrepreneurship Month in November, we brought back our fan-favorite Shaq-A-Roni pizza in partnership with Papa Johns franchisee and board member Shaquille O’Neal. For each Shaq-A-Roni sold in the US between Oct. 16 and Dec. 31, 2023, Papa Johns will donate $1 to The Papa Johns Foundation for Building Community to support nonprofit partners such as Boys & Girls Clubs of America, UNCF and other organizations working to empower youth. In international markets, $1 USD equivalent will be donated to Junior Achievement, Global Changemakers and other charities supporting youth-based causes. Shaq celebrated the return of Shaq-A-Roni by meeting with members of Boys & Girls Club Southern Nevada to learn about their entrepreneurial dreams story.
